Our Shiloh Story
Back in 2000, my dad and a friend were discussing dogs. The friend mentioned that the finest breed around was the Shiloh Shepherd, a name my dad had never encountered before. Intrigued, he began to delve into research about the breed. A few years later, my parents visited a Shiloh Shepherd kennel on the west coast to converse with the owner and observe what was touted as “the best dog out there.”
They instantly fell for the breed. Not only were these dogs strikingly beautiful and regal, but their temperaments were equally remarkable. They were captivated by the attentive, intelligent eyes that seemed to peer straight into one’s soul.
Despite their admiration, my parents didn’t immediately adopt a Shiloh. Years later, I discovered my own passion for the breed and began my own research. Ultimately, I welcomed a Shiloh into my life, and her name was Sara.
My affection for Shilohs grew so profound that I resolved to breed them myself, and here I am today, living that dream. As the saying goes, the rest is history!
I owe my progress to the invaluable wisdom and guidance of Judy Vaneman and Tanya Pankow! Thank you for mentoring me on this journey into the Shiloh Shepherd breeding community!
Our Values
Our breeding philosophy and goal at Last Frontier Shilohs is to produce socialized, well adjusted, structurally sound Shiloh Shepherds who can participate in your everyday activities no matter what those activities are. Maybe you are interested in different dog activities such as obedience, or herding, and therapy work. Maybe you like to hike with your dog or take them camping with you. Maybe you just like to lounge on the couch at home. We believe Shiloh Shepherds should be structurally and temperamentally sound to allow them to be an active part of your lifestyle. We work hard to produce that in our puppies. Our Shilohs are kept underfoot, never kenneled, and are treated as valuable members of our family. We breed on a small scale to assure all puppies and families receive the time, attention, and support they need. All of our dogs used for breeding have undergone stringent testing.
